Note: When operating in salt water, turbid or muddy water, the engine should be flushed with clean water after each use.
After First Ten Hours or 30 Days:
- Battery: Inspect/charge
- Fuel filter: Inspect/clean
- Fuel System: Inspect
- Gear Oil: Change
- Engine Oil: Inspect and change.
- Spark Plugs: Clean/Inspect/replace as needed.
After First 50 Hours or 90 Days:
- Anode(s) (external): Inspect/replace
- Cooling water passages: Clean
- Fuel filter: Inspect/clean
- Fuel System: Inspect
- Propeller & Cotter Pin: Inspect/replace
Every 100 Hours or 6 Months
- Anode(s) (external): Inspect/replace
- Cooling Water Passages: Cleaning
- Engine Oil: Inspect/change
- Fuel Filter: Inspection/Cleaning
- Fuel System: Inspection
- Gear Oil: Change
- Greasing Points: Grease
- Propeller & Cotter Pin: Inspect/replace
- Timing Belt: Inspect/replace
Every 200 Hours or Yearly
- Anode(s) (external): Inspect/replace
- Anode(s) (internal): Inspect/replace
- Cooling Water Passages: Cleaning
- Cowling clamp: Inspect
- Engine Oil: Inspect/change
- Fuel Filter: Inspection/Cleaning
- Fuel System: Inspection
- Gear Oil: Change
- Greasing Points: Grease
- Idling Speed (EFI Models): Inspect/adjust
- Oil filter (cartridge): Change
- PCV: Inspect
- Power Trim & Tilt Unit: Inspect
- Propeller & Cotter Pin: Inspect/replace
- Shift link/Shift cable: Inspect/adjust
- Spark Plugs: Clean/adjust/replace
- Thermostat: Inspect
- Throttle link/cable/pick-up timing: Inspect/adjust
- Timing Belt: Inspect/replace
- Water pump: Inspect

Additional maintenance items:
Every 500 Hours or 2.5 years:
- Valve Clearance on DOHC engines should be inspected/adjusted. When using lead or high-sulfer gasoline this inspection may be required more frequently.
Every 1000 hours or 5 years:
- Timing Belt should be replaced.
