Often, the feedback we get from our customers is given to us face to face. Occasionally one of our customers takes a minute to write us and let us know how satisfied they are with their new boat, our service department or the whole experience they have had with Wefing's Marine.
We sincerely appreciate these folks taking a minute to do this and would like to share a few of them with you.
Marc,
My name is Terri Brown and I recently purchased a boat from your Marine. I would like to say that from day one your staff was very helpful and courteous. Initially I dealt with Lee (Wefing's Service Manager) reference my Pontoon boat that needed repair. Lee thoroughly explained to me the problem(s) with the motor and dealt with both me and the insurance company in a very professional manner. When I mentioned to Lee trading my pontoon, he did not hesitate to help me with the research reference finding a new boat to suit my needs. I then was contacted by Charlie Holtom reference trading the Pontoon and purchasing the boat I wanted. Charlie worked with me reference getting the boat I wanted and a reasonable payment plan that fit my budget. Charlie also took time to take me out on the new boat because all my experience has been with a Pontoon. Needless to say there is a learning curve there. Charlie has been helpful since day one and you now have a customer that would not hesitate to recommend your Marine to anyone who wants to buy a boat or is in need of repairs. Lee and Charlie both represented your Marine well and went above and beyond in customer service. I am enjoying the boat and appreciate your folks at Wefings Marine.
Thank you again,
Terri S. Brown
Lee,
I just wanted to thank you for the great service you provided me last week. It was a joy to get back to St. George Saturday evening and the boat waiting on me. It ran great on a beautiful Sunday yesterday. I would certainly refer anyone to your great dealership.
Thanks again,
Warren Higdon
Dear Mark,
We had such a wonderful time on our C Dory adventure! My daughter and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend boating around the Apalachicola area. We found many "hidden" creeks with beautiful plants and scenery. My daughter got a great close up of an alligator which really made her trip! We saw many birds including a bald eagle trying to steal a fish from an osprey! Not something you ever see in Atlanta! Thanks again!

I heard the two best days of boat ownership are the day you bought it and the day you sold it. The days between are a graceless slide from an ear to ear grin as you pull your new boat up to the dock to the point the mere sight of it makes you turn away and utter “@#(% boat”. Either something different is breaking down with each outing, the design doesn’t fit your needs, it is expensive to operate, it is a general pain in the butt or all of the above plus more. Not to mention trying to explain, again, why you need more money to fix “this and that” to the wife. The disgusted look my wife gave me on countless occasions is burnt into my memory so deeply it will most likely be the last thing that goes through my mind.
Yes, I’ve been involved with several boats I’d love to forget. I still remember getting stoned doing fiberglass repairs…enduring cramps trying to trace down an electrical short in a hole so small my arm got stuck…doing “head” repair with the odor of a couple of ‘live’ ones permeating the tight quarters…doing a head stand in the engine compartment trying to loosen the drain plug to change the oil on a pair of diesel engines and on and on and on. Oh, and the final kicker being...”I don’t know why you have to get so angry.” “Do you know what you’re doing?” Only to reply in Jack Nickleson fashion “Well....babe...I’m trying to do it myself to save money so I won’t get ‘the look’ ”.
In February of 2003, I was at my wits end with ‘the boat’ I was currently possessed with. Serendipity came into play when my wife had some business in Apalachicola, Fl. She conned me into taking the trip with her by offering me all you can eat oysters once she finished her meeting. Getting away from the boat in Steinhatchee and oysters was a great ploy. While she attended her meeting, I meandered around the historic town. I found myself at Wefings Marine where Marc Grove was there alone talking on the phone. Just killing time building an oyster appetite, I looked at the tackle inside the store and boats parked outside. Many of the boats were Twin Vee power catamarans 25 foot or less. They looked weird to me with the tunnel cut down the middle. I wasn’t impressed with the look or the size. Here comes Marc. I thought ‘Oh God, a salesman ready to deliver the pitch’. He seemed to have a lot to do for a man by himself. After exchanging pleasantries, I found out he was preparing for a boat show. He found out I was a charter boat captain looking for a boat to carry eight people plus gear. The boats on the lot wouldn’t do the job. He told me he had a 32 footer at Scipio Marina but didn’t have time to show it to me. He told me how to get there and left. No pressure sales to say the least. I went for a look.
. . . read the rest.
"Here's a couple pictures of the boat. The vented Bowmar hatches on the sides of the livewell is where we relocated the batteries and switches...works well. Everyone loves the boat. Most can't believe the stability, or the fact there aren't any trim tabs."
". . .There seems to be a growing number of us charter guy's that are using Twin Vee's. I'd love to go to the Twinament...but it's charter season."

Marc,
I am sending you a couple photos of the boat and a photo of mutton snapper we caught aboard her. We had "Rosebud" 10 miles offshore fishing numerous times. We experienced some rough seas and she handled them with ease. Purchasing a C-Dory from you was an excellent experience and I would recommend you to anyone interested in purchasing one. You staff was excellent from top to bottom!
Thanks again,
Dick and Bunny B.
Pictures of Dick and Bunny's C-Dory are posted here in the forums.

Hi Marc,
Just to let you know about my experience on the bay cat 19. We were out on Sunday Oct 2, the paper stated 2-4 with moderate chop. Ok I wanted to see if the boat handled the way you stated. Going out it was no problem. We kept the 115 at 4000 rpm (still breaking in). The boss stated she had no problems up front. As we were fishing we noticed the waves seem to get worse. We cruised around to some other areas in Waccasassa Bay to find a better spot. Then we noticed the waves still not so good. Boss noticed some nasty clouds coming at us from the shore. We headed back in. At times I slowed the boat down to 3000 rpm. She ran better and smoother at 4000 rpm. Lots of white caps every where.
I checked the information on the weather as we were coming in and there was a "small craft advisory". The waves according to the buoy were 4-5 ft. Only two reasons we went back in, storm clouds and the fish weren't biting. The boat handled just as you stated.
My main question to you when we started to talk about the 19 was "How would it handle if I got caught in nasty weather with 5 foot waves?" Questioned answered."
Thanks.

Marc,
I received your postcard and started filling it out, but decided it was just not large enough to tell you about the customer service I have received. First, I was impressed with the low pressure sales approach from Buzz. Like he said the boat will either sell itself or it won't. I bought a 01 Palm Beach Baydancer 167 with an 05 Suzuki 70 hp four stroke. I was a little skeptical when the fuel pump died on the test drive. However, the five year warranty was more than enough to convice me it was the boat I had been looking for. We have had it out in the St Joe Bay a couple of times and it has performed flawlessly. The fuel useage is very low and it takes the chop pretty good for a small boat.
Melissa has been a jewel in handling the paperwork and my follow up questions. Everthing has been done in a professional manner. You are fortunate to have quality people working for you. It is rare today. I will be bringing the boat in for the regular maintenance, even though it is a little bit of a drive from St. Joe Bch. I think it is worth the extra effort to get treated well.
Thanks again
Kenny W.

Dear Mark,
Just a note to express my huge satisfaction on the work you did on my boat (detail - Ranger Bass) lasst week. I was amazed how good it looked after you finished w/it. I was also impressed that it cost actually less than your orig. estimate. I'll recommend your services at Wefings anytime.
See you on the water.
